Installation

Installation of visual art for galleries, businesses, and residences. Traditional and contemporary mediums. Framed and unframed work, sculpture, and audiovisual/technological artwork. Indoor and outdoor. Repair of walls from removal or relocation of artwork.

Challenging artworks or environments just make things interesting for me. Although my installation work is of the highest standard it is not governed by inflexible, standard ways of doing things. Each artwork and environment is different so creative problem solving is frequently required.

Consultation

Specifications for gallery/museum/business walls, ceilings and fittings designed for easy changeover of exhibitions, suspension of heavy artwork, audiovisual and electronic artwork and displays, and proper lighting of artwork. I have the skills, experience and qualifications to liaise with builders, engineers, and architects before and during construction or renovation to ensure a space serves its specialised purpose effectively and efficiently.

Equipment purchasing advice including researched shopping lists with suppliers and prices.

Purchasing service, after consultation I can source equipment, present for approval and purchase items on your behalf including delivery (and installation where necessary). Compatibility, availability, and suitability of equipment is my concern. You only have to deal with one purchase approval and one payee.

Maintenance of technology-based artwork and informative displays including migration from obsolete technology.

Written & illustrated instructions for day-to-day running of temporary or permanent displays and exhibitions, with contacts for repairs, warranties, and maintenance.

Training

Staff, artist, and volunteer training in basic to advanced artwork and AV equipment installation and gallery maintenance. Training can be customised to the specific environments, equipment, and situations at your workplace. This is a great way to not only save money and delays on external installation labour but also to give back to your volunteers and satisfy staff Professional Development goals.
